Engineer by trade, builder by habit.

Full-stack Software Engineer with around 4 years of experience designing, building and operating scalable web applications, Java and Spring Boot microservices, and cloud-native data workflows. Currently leading frontend development for CeADAR's AI2Peat platform while contributing to backend APIs and orchestrating geospatial processing services with Apache Airflow, Kubernetes and GCP.

I like owning things end-to-end: from user-facing React interfaces and Spring Boot services through Airflow orchestration, containers, cloud deployment, CI/CD and production support. I build for users and operators, and use agentic AI tools like Claude Code to move faster on implementation and review.

MSc in Software Engineering, First Class Honours from the University of Limerick. Outside code: former national-level footballer, so teamwork is a habit.

Lead full-stack delivery for AI2Peat, owning the frontend redesign in React.js, Next.js and TypeScript while contributing to backend architecture, API integration and cloud operations.
Develop Java and Spring Boot microservices for satellite imagery download, vegetation-index processing and land-cover inference, exposing REST endpoints for asynchronous geospatial workflows.

Design and maintain Apache Airflow DAGs that launch containerised workloads as Kubernetes Jobs, using RBAC-controlled service accounts on GKE.
